PAPER TUBE TREE HOUSE
Project by: KRISTAL.
Location: Klil
Program: Tree House and Storage
Size: 32 m2
Status: Completed
Year: 2019
Materials: Paper tubes, Wood, Plywood, Metal
This experimental paper tube structure has 3 distinct spaces built around an existing structure - the top one is a tree house / mirador, and the two bottom ones are for storage and workshop.
The design process focused on joints, ease of construction and inexpensive solutions. A hybrid of joints, custom made and shelf products, ensures structural stability, watertight connections, quick assembly and flexibility.
All paper tubes used were in line for shredding and were donated by a nearby paper factory. They were used exclusively for structural purposes as part of an experiment that would eventually lead to larger structures.
